Institute for Translational and Emerging Research in Advanced Comparative Therapy
(INTERACT)
Our mission
Located in the College of Veterinary Medicine, INTERACT leads the one-health mission
of OSU by bringing together clinicians, scientists and researchers involved in fundamental
discovery, industry and foundations under one roof.
INTERACT is endowed with state-of-the art research and clinical infrastructure, and
dedicated personnel. We are currently running several clinical trials. We welcome
researchers from across the nation to collaborate and participate in our preclinical
projects or clinical trials.
The College of Veterinary Medicine has a long history of conducting clinical trials
against a variety of chronic diseases. In recent years, we have developed novel biocompatible
materials, nanomedicines and minimally-invasive robotic surgeries for use in veterinary
practice. Our long-established history in conducting clinically relevant research
provides significant opportunities to conduct government- and industry-sponsored research
in translational medicine across a range of disciplines, benefiting veterinary patients
and humans. Areas of research include: oncology, infectious diseases, parasitology,
reproductive and emerging diseases of small and large animals.
The vision of the Students for One Health, One Medicine (SOHOM) Club is to invite
and grow appreciation for One Health in the OSU community. We aim to broaden the educational
and extracurricular experiences of students in higher education through promotion
of science and medicine from a One Health perspective.
