Early Admission Program
The Early Admission Program offers an opportunity for students with superior academic
performance to commit to their veterinary medical career goals early in the educational
process. Students accepted into the program secure their seat early, receive personalized
support, and complete their undergraduate degree with a clear plan toward veterinary
school.

How to Apply?
- Eligibility Requirements
- Enrolled as a full-time student in an Oklahoma four-year university
- Must be an entering college freshman (students who graduated high school in May)
- Applicants must have achieved an ACT score of at least 28 (SAT 1300)
*Writing portion not required - Must demonstrate a strong interest in veterinary medicine, effective leadership and communication skills, emotional maturity, and other non-technical skills which reflect the knowledge and aptitude necessary for the successful practice of veterinary medicine.
- Qualified applicants must participate in interviews as part of the selection process
- Application Process
- Upload high school transcript and if applicants have taken concurrent courses they must submit an official copy of their college transcript.
- Upload ACT scores or SAT scores
- Applicants must have two letters of reference sent directly from their evaluator to dvm@okstate.edu.
- Submit a $50 application fee
- Application opens August 1st
Expectations
Students accepted into the Early Admission Program must meet the following requirements to remain eligible for admission to the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine:
- Academic Requirements

Complete all required pre-veterinary coursework and a bachelor’s degree by June 1 prior to starting the OSU DVM program. -
Complete a bachelor’s degree within eight consecutive semesters or fewer. *Students participating in OSU’s 3+1 program must complete six undergraduate semesters followed by two semesters of the professional program to earn their bachelor’s degree. -
Take all courses at the student’s primary four-year Oklahoma institution where they are enrolled full-time. - Maintain a minimum 3.5 semester GPA

- Transcript & Course Policies
- Students not attending Oklahoma State University must submit an official transcript at the end of each semester.
- Students wishing to take summer courses must receive written approval from the OSU
CVM Prospective Student Coordinator before enrolling.
*Pre-veterinary course requirements will not be approved for summer enrollment.

Veterinary Experience Requirements
- Complete one full summer (a minimum of 250 consecutive hours) of volunteering, shadowing,
or salaried work in a veterinary clinic under the supervision of a veterinarian.
*Upon completion, the supervising veterinarian must submit a positive evaluation of the student. - Complete one veterinary-related activity each semester and document it in the required Activity Log, due June 1 prior to starting the OSU DVM Program.
- Complete one full summer (a minimum of 250 consecutive hours) of volunteering, shadowing,
or salaried work in a veterinary clinic under the supervision of a veterinarian.
