Induction Ceremony
Information for Students

Ceremony begins at 10am
Students need to arrive by 9:15am
Request a Distinguished Coater: You will have the option to request a distingusehd coater within the new student survey.
Parking: Parking on the main Oklahoma State campus is a challenge. The Fourth Avenue Garage
is connected to the McKnight Center. There are entrances on S. Ramsey St. and W.
4th Ave. We suggest you carpool with family/guests if possible. There are some metered spots available in the garage, these spaces are first come,
first served, and accept cash and credit card payments. Other all-day spots are $15/day.
Additional parking may be found on campus or on city streets. You must have a handicapped
permit to park in handicapped spots. (See detailed maps & additional information)

Accessibility: The Hester Street entrance offers a designated passenger pick-up and drop-off lane for easy access to the east lobby. This entrance is accessible by ramp and power-assist doors. All levels of the garage have ADA parking/access.

Guest: Theater seating is limited. Please keep your guest number to under 10.
Livestream: For those who are unable to attend in-person, the ceremony will be livestreamed on the College of Veterinary Medicine Facebook Page. You do not have to have a Facebook account to view the livestream. After the ceremony, it will also be archived on Facebook, YouTube and InsideOSU to watch at any time.
Ceremony Details: When we begin the coating ceremony, you will be escorted by a CVM Ambassador from your aisle to walk backstage, to the left side as you are looking at the stage. A CVM staff member will direct you behind the stage. When your name is called, you begin walking to the middle of the stage where you will be coated. If you have a distinguished coater, they will walk in front of you. If you have a distinguished coater, they will receive your coat at the edge of the stage (behind the curtain) and walk to the middle of the stage to coat you. (See detailed stage & seating diagram)
After being coated, you will exit stage left. Your coater, if applicable, will exit with you. A CVM staff member will direct you to the photo area. Please remain quiet, while behind the stage. Once your photo is taken, you will be directed to a door to re-enter the Hall.
A class photo will be taken immediately following the ceremony. The ceremony will be over at approximately 11:00 a.m.
*No food or drinks are allowed in “The Hall” during the ceremony (the ceremony will be around 1 hr. in length)
