Technician Speakers
Mayte Aleman-Carter, MS, RVT, CVPP
Mayte Aleman-Carter is originally from Panama. She came to the US for a master's in Animal reproduction and then continued to technician veterinary school at TCC. She is a member of the IVAPM, where she got her certification in pain management (CVPP).

Lisa Gallery, BS, RVT, VTS (Ophthalmology)
Lisa Gallery has always been involved with animals and veterinary medicine. A native Oklahoman, she grew up riding horses and working on her brother’s cattle ranch in Bartlesville. Lisa began working as a veterinary assistant as a high school senior and continued throughout her college career. She attended Oklahoma State University where she graduated in 1993 with a BS in Wildlife Ecology. She began working at the OSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital in 2001 as a veterinary assistant. She took online courses from Cedar Valley College and graduated in 2004 with an AAS in Veterinary Technology allowing her to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has worked throughout the small animal hospital and has now been with the ophthalmology department for 12 years. Lisa completed the requirements and was awarded her VTS in ophthalmology last fall. In her spare time, Lisa trains and shows Arabian horses in competitive trail and working western classes. She also enjoys hiking, fishing, kayaking and camping.

Elissa Green, RVT
Elissa Green is a Registered Veterinary Technician in the ophthalmology department at OSU-VTH. She is a 2016 graduate of the Veterinary Technology program at OSU-OKC. She began her career at OSU in the surgery department before finding her niche in ophthalmology and is now working toward her VTS.
Elissa is presenting "Commonly Used Ophthalmic Medications" on Friday, November 10 at 10 a.m.
Steve Hopkins, DVM
Dr. Hopkins is a 1983 graduate of Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He is the owner of Academy Animal Clinic, an AAHA accredited hospital, in Albuquerque, NM. The hospital merged with VCA Wyoming Hospital in November of 2010. He retired from the practice in December of 2012 and began teaching. He was an adjunct professor at Brown Mackie College Veterinary Technology Program for 4 years, and on Faculty at Pima Medical Institute, Veterinary Assistant/Technology Program. He has been married for 44 years and has three adult children and three grandchildren.
