2023 Opioid CE Released

Monday, February 6, 2023

The Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine released the 2023 Opioid CE for Oklahoma Veterinarians, “Opioids and Controlled Substances for Veterinarians and Regulatory Aspects of Veterinary Medicine,” taught by Dr. Lara Maxwell.

“We’re actually at the forefront of the opioid epidemic and the battle to mitigate the problems that have arisen from having these drugs of abuse become so common,“ said Dr. Maxwell, CVM professor of pharmacology. “Not only do we need to mitigate outside diversion, but we ourselves, our practice members, technicians and students can all be impacted by addiction. This course is a great way for us to look at it and reframe it as something that’s not just in human medicine and law enforcement, but that is directly impacting veterinary medicine in Oklahoma.”

This course has been approved as two hourse of CE by the Oklahoma Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.  To see if this course is acceptable as CE in other states, please visit the state's specific guidelines. Many states accept CE from AVMA accredited veterinary schools. OSU CVM is an AVMA accredited veterinary school.

This course is offered at a reduced rate due to funding support from OBVME. Registration is $40.00.
