OSU Vet Med Fall Conference with the World Rabies Day sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim announces the opportunity for veterinary professionals to attend a Rabies Wet Lab at Fall Conference.
The lab will be offered at 1:30, and repeated at 2:30, 3:45 and 4:45. Veterinary professionals who wish to attend should select one session. A limited number of seats are available during the 4:45 session for CVM DVM students. Dr. Brianne Taylor, along with Boehringer Ingelehiem and OADDL staff, will lead the wet labs.

Dr. Brianne Taylor, DVM, MS, DACVP, grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her father is a mobile equine veterinarian and 1985 graduate of OSU. Dr. Taylor obtained her bachelor’s degree in microbiology (2011), master’s degree in toxicology (2013), and DVM (2017), all from Colorado State University. She then went on and completed an anatomic pathology residency and second master’s degree in veterinary pathobiology at Texas A&M University in 2020. As a board-certified anatomic pathologist and clinical associate professor at OSU, she splits her time between teaching all four years of the veterinary curriculum, training pathology residents, providing diagnostic service to OADDL, and collaborating in various research projects. Dr. Taylor is married to a small animal veterinarian and primary care faculty in the OSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital. They enjoy traveling and spending time with their many animals. Outside of work, Dr. Taylor enjoys horseback riding, hiking, and generally being in nature.
What You Will Learn: This interactive wet lab will provide participants with hands-on experience in appropriate sampling for rabies testing. Attendees will review anatomic locations and observe brain removal techniques with an emphasis on a field necropsy approach. Attendees will also review proper submission of samples, including packaging and shipping. Limited seating. Veterinary professionals only.
