2026 Phi Zeta Research Day Awards

Annually, the Nu Chapter of The Society of Phi Zeta hosts Phi Zeta Research Day to recognize veterinary students, interns, residents, graduate students, and post-doctoral associates for their outstanding work.
Participants presented on clinical cases and research findings; winners were selected for each group. Winners received a certificate and generous monetary award thanks to this year’s sponsors.

Best Overall - John King award
Established in honor of the late Dr. John King, a member of the veterinary center’s class of 1955, the John King Award recognizes the most outstanding presentation by an Oklahoma State University veterinary student.

Keynote Speaker:
Dr. Cyril R. Clarke, Professor at Virginia Tech, Former Executive Vice President and Provost, and Former Dean of Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. His presentation was “The Role of the Veterinary Scientist in Translational Research and Scholarship.”
Industry partners included Zoetis, Merck Animal Health, Platinum Performance, Boehringer Ingelheim, IDEXX and the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association. Support was also provided from within the CVM including the Department of Research, Associate Dean’s Office for Academic and Student Affairs, Department of Veterinary Pathobiology, Department of Physiological Sciences, Oklahoma Animal Diagnostic Disease Laboratory and Veterinary Clinical Sciences.
A special thanks to the Phi Zeta executive team of Drs. Madhan Subramanian, Dale Kelley, Kathryn Duncan, Mike Schoonover, as well as all the new inductees, members, judges, and participants who were able to attend the evening banquet and made it a wonderful event.
