Kesavan is investigating the activation of microglial cells that accumulate lipid droplets and their intercellular communication with neurons and other glial cells. She is also studying the intercellular communication of exosomes derived from the brainstem of LFD- and HFD-diet mice and how these exosomes interact with glial cells and neurons.

Majumder’s research focuses on understanding how mutations reshape protein conformational dynamics using long-timescale molecular dynamics simulations and data-driven analysis, with the goal of identifying new allosteric sites and strategies for targeted therapy.

Periyasamy’s research focuses on developing tumor-targeted molecular therapeutic strategies for deadly solid cancers, particularly those for which no effective clinical management currently exists. Her work is especially centered on aggressive developmental tumors in infants.
