After hours emergency services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Dr. Asitha Pillai, the small animal emergency clinician, is available to treat your emergency case anytime of the day.

Asitha Pillai, BVSc & AH (DVM equivalent), MS, MS

Originally from Kerala, India, Dr. Pillai earned her BVSc & AH degree and a master's degree in animal nutrition from the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in Kerala. She then earned a master's degree in genetics/genomics and her DVM degree through the PAVE program at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Pillai's research interests include molecular genetics.

In her spare time, Dr. Pillai enjoys listening to audiobooks and spending time with family.

Melissa Magazu

Originally from Woolwich Township, New Jersey, she graduated as a 1st Lieutenant from the New York Military Academy and attended Camden County College in the veterinary technology program.

Magazu loves emergency medicine but also has a great passion for and interest in ophthalmology. Her father, Dr. Mark F. Magazu taught at OSU in 1983.

In her spare time, Melissa enjoys being with her husband, Joey and their three children ages 9, 5 and 1, being outdoors, going to the beach and traveling.
