Vet Med Open House
Oct. 26, 2024
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Join us for a day of exploring veterinary medicine! Our students coordinate Open House
and are very proud to show visitors the many different facets of their profession.
From research, to teaching tomorrow’s practitioners, to treating Oklahoma’s livestock
and companion animals, there is much to do and see. We encourage children to dress
up in their best halloween costumes! Some of the activities children will participate
in are the teddy bear surgery, anatomy showcase and meeting Bullet.
Teddy Bear Surgery
CVM third year students will be demonstrating their surgery skills by arranging the
Teddy Bear Surgery exhibit. Children under the age of 16 are encouraged to participate
in this mock procedure covering the basic surgical techniques.
We are currently accepting donations of Teddy Bears for this event. Please drop off
any new or gently used stuffed animals at McElroy Hall.
Parasitology Showcase
OSU is home to the National Center of Veterinary Parasitology for a reason. The students are excited to showcase what they have learned about parasites! Come see the parasitology showcase to learn more.
Stillwater Police Department
K9 Unit Demonstration
The Stillwater Police Department K9 Unit assists in the effective investigation and suppression of criminal activity. The K9 unit has proven to be an incredible asset to the SPD and the protection of the Stillwater community.
Trick-or-Treating
Bring your favorite halloween costume, candy bucket, and enjoy a fun-filled day with lots of candy! All children attending in costume can trick or treat at each booth! A special thank you to our sponsors for the candy donations.
Anatomy Showcase
If you would like to learn about the morphological differences and similarities between us and the wonderful animals of our world; come see the first-year students' anatomy showcase!
Clinical Skills Lab Showcase
The clinical skills lab offers hands-on training for students to refine essential skills in a controlled environment. Equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and guidance from experienced faculty, it aims to provide practical expertise for quality animal healthcare.
