Dr. Veronique Lacombe leads the Comparative Metabolism Research Laboratory at Oklahoma State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. An associate professor in the center’s Department of Physiological Sciences, Lacombe recently presented two research abstracts at the 17th Annual Meeting of the Society for Heart and Vascular Metabolism, which was held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
An international audience representing 20 different countries attended the conference. The meeting focused on targeting metabolic pathways to combat the most prevalent cardiovascular diseases of our time, in particular diabetes, heart failure, and the metabolic syndrome.
